Will Repellents Get Rid of Groundhogs? What will?
There are forms of repellents that indeed will control groundhogs. Controlling of groundhogs will not get rid of them but they will however give you less.
One of the methods of controlling groundhog is using a spray repellent. This repellent is a pepper based spicy formula that will confuse the smell and taste
of the pest. To use this formula is very simple. Sprinkle the repellent, which is granulated. Sprinkle the formula around the groundhog opening.
There are also liquid repellents that work in the same manner. Regardless of which one you use, this will not in anyway keep a mother groundhog from getting her babies.
There is also the option of an electronic repellent, this repellent is motion activated and will spray water with the groundhog movements. Groundhogs
select where they will burrow based on the dryness of the location, because of this water repellents are the most effective way of relocating groundhogs.
Use this electronic option in your gardens that groundhogs seem to be fond of.
In using repellents it is best to do so in the early spring not when the groundhog is hibernating and before they begin to mate and the mother
has not entered gestation. This will only give you more groundhogs. Do not keep plantings and woodpiles around your house, this will provide protection for them.
Keep old burrows from becoming active, the best way to do this is through electronic repellent or covering the holes with wired mesh, which is the most effective
way of closing off burrows. Completely ridding yourself of groundhogs are only possible through lethal traps, however they can run you into a legal jam.
Control is one of the most useful methods a person can use. In keeping up with the control all of the mentioned measures can be employed.
Groundhogs are very difficult to get rid of. The idea of using a professional will probably is your best bet. The professional will have experience
and will be able to relocate without being killed. A professional can also give you expert tips on control as well as beginning the control method for you.
They’re a number of options that you can use for the control and/or relocation of the groundhog. Looking for tips or asking advise at a hardware store may
help you find the right product that will be right for you.
