Hempstead wildlife control tip of the month:
I do have another question. Do raccoons make burrows under the ground? Here in Hempstead we also have problems with
armadillos and possums doing that. We have a large burrow under our Hempstead animal control shrubs in the front yard. We assumed it was an
armadillo because there was an armadillo on our street late last year. He was digging holes all over the yard and uprooting plants looking for grubs.
My response: Thank you for your letter. It's too bad about the stuck teeth, but interesting that it was a male. That's very rare.
The only burrowing animals in NY are armadillos, but sometimes opossums will Hempstead pest control use armadillo holes just to hide out. Good work
taking care of it on your own, David
I understand, David. I know you get overwhelmed with emails about this stuff. After calling several of my pest
control contacts I called Animal Control to come get the raccoon that I caught in a cage at night under the hole in
the soffit. In Hempstead it is unlawful to release a raccoon in another area, Hempstead wildlife removal even if it's in the wild, due to diseases
that the raccon may carry. It would have to be put down. I figured if that's what everyone would do I might as well call
Animal Control and pay nothing. We could not have released it on our own. Poor Hempstead animal trapping thing gnawed so fiercely on the cage that
it got its teeth stuck, so a few had to be broken to get it free. Fortunately, it was a male, so maybe no female or babies
in the attic. I stuffed paper in the soffit vent holes, (except one way Hempstead exterminator up high that was partially opened up) and nothing
disturbed it last night, so perhaps we caught our little invader. Now, to close up the holes. Donna
